Privacy Policy
How VolMa handles data in its apps, on this website and when you buy a license.
Who is responsible
VolMa is responsible for the personal data described on this page. To ask a question or make a request, contact [email protected].
In short
- The VolMa apps send no usage telemetry. VolMa does not receive what you play or watch, file or torrent names, or media contents.
- This website uses Google Analytics only if you accept optional analytics cookies. It has no advertising or social trackers.
- VolMa does process some personal data: your purchase email and country, order and license records, licensing requests from the apps, support correspondence and, only if you join them, the email addresses of the newsletter and Guardly early-access lists. The sections below explain each.
Optional website analytics
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics helps VolMa understand referral sources, campaigns and page visits. Google receives technical request information, including your IP address, and analytics events about pages you visit. Analytics cookies distinguish visits. VolMa does not send your email address, form contents, license details or payment details to analytics. Advertising features are disabled.
Before you accept, or if you reject, the website does not load Google Analytics or send analytics requests to Google. Choosing either option does not affect access to the website or apps. Your choice is stored in your browser for 180 days when storage is available; if storage is blocked, it applies only until the page is reloaded. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without renewal.
Use Analytics settings in the footer to change your choice. Rejecting after acceptance stops further collection and removes analytics cookies accessible to this site; it does not delete information already received by Google. For Google's processing, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Contact [email protected] with privacy requests.
The apps
What stays on your Mac
OnFly keeps its settings, playback history, copies of recent torrent files and the temporary media cache on your Mac. They are not sent to VolMa. Licensing credentials are kept in your Mac's Keychain.
License checks
The app contacts VolMa to manage trials and licenses. VolMa processes the technical information needed to verify a license, manage its use on one Mac and prevent abuse.
License checks do not send playback history, file or torrent names, or media contents. A trial needs no email address and no account.
Updates
The app can check for updates and download them from VolMa's download host. That host sees the request, including your IP address and the technical details that come with any web request, as any web server does. You choose in the app whether it checks automatically.
OnFly sessions and the network
OnFly plays content from torrents and magnet links you open. Like any BitTorrent client, it connects to other peers and to the trackers or other network services that the torrent, the magnet link or the protocol provide. Those peers and services can see connection information, such as your IP address, and that your Mac takes part in the swarm for that torrent. VolMa does not run those peers or services and does not see your sessions.
OnFly uploads pieces to other peers while a session is active; pressing Stop ends it. Use OnFly only with content you have the right to share. OnFly does not include or link to any content.
Guardly
Guardly is in development and is not available. This policy describes no Guardly app behavior; it will be updated before Guardly is released.
Purchases and licenses
At checkout you enter your email address and country, and optionally a name or company and a VAT ID for an invoice. The page sends these with your product, quantity and the versions of the agreements you accepted to the licensing service, which creates the order.
You pay on a hosted checkout page. VolMa does not collect or see your card details and receives the payment result to fulfil your order.
After payment, VolMa sends your license file and receipt by email to the purchase email. VolMa keeps the order, the license and the purchase email so that it can resend the file, recover a license when you lose access to a Mac, answer support requests and keep purchase records. Messages about license recovery and resending never reveal whether an address belongs to a customer.
Newsletter and Guardly early access
You can join two optional email lists, either or both. The newsletter sends one short email when OnFly or Guardly ships something new. The Guardly early-access list sends invitations to Guardly test builds and news about its release. Joining is not needed to buy or use VolMa.
What VolMa collects
- Your email address and the list you chose.
- For Guardly early access, the number of cameras you chose: 1–2, 3–4, 5–8 or more than 8. VolMa uses it to know roughly how many cameras testers may connect.
- The version of the sign-up notice you saw (the date of its text), the time you asked to join and the time you confirmed.
VolMa does not store your IP address or device details with your subscription. As with any web request, VolMa's server sees your IP address and uses it only to limit abuse.
How joining works
Sending the form subscribes no one. VolMa first emails a confirmation link to the address you entered, and you are subscribed only after you open the link and press Confirm. The link works for 48 hours. If you ask again, you get a new link and the earlier one stops working. A request that is not confirmed is deleted, with its email address and camera range, 7 days after the link expires. The confirmation email does not track opens or clicks.
Unsubscribing and deletion
Every email from these lists has an unsubscribe link. Opening it removes you from that list at once and deletes your email address and camera range. VolMa then keeps only a record that the link was used, for 13 months, so that the link still works if you open it again: the list, the status "unsubscribed", the time you unsubscribed and one-way digests of the links in its emails, which do not contain your email address. After 13 months this record is deleted too. The record cannot be linked back to you, so the link only ever refers to that earlier subscription: if you join again later, use the unsubscribe link in your latest email. Unsubscribing from one list does not change the other list, your license or your purchase records.
If you cannot use the link, write to [email protected] and VolMa will delete your address within 30 days. Deleted data may remain in routine backups until those backups are rotated out.
Support
If you write to [email protected], VolMa processes your message, your email address and anything you include to answer you. Do not send media, torrent files or other content you do not want us to read.
How long data is kept
Some purchase and tax records may have to be kept for the period the law requires.
Newsletter and early-access subscriptions are kept while you stay subscribed. A request you never confirm is deleted 7 days after its link expires. After you unsubscribe, your email address and camera range are deleted at once and a record without your address is kept for 13 months, as described above.
Your choices and rights
If you ask for your purchase email to be deleted, VolMa can no longer resend or recover your license. You can leave the newsletter or the Guardly early-access list at any time with the unsubscribe link in its emails, which deletes your address from that list.
