Third-party notices

The third-party components in OnFly, with their licenses and notices.

LGPL source code

VLCKit and libVLC, and the libraries built into them, are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later. You may modify or replace them and run OnFly with your version, and reverse engineer OnFly to debug those modifications.

The link to the corresponding source code of the VLCKit framework and detailed instructions for rebuilding and replacing it are in OnFly's Third-Party Licenses window; both depend on the app version. OnFly's proprietary application source code is not part of that archive.

Components in OnFly

OnFly includes the components below. Each component keeps its own license, and those licenses prevail over conflicting terms in the OnFly License Agreement for the components they cover. Copyright notices are copied verbatim from the license files and source files of the exact pinned versions; complete per-file notices are in the source code of each component.

Media engine (LGPL)

Inside libVLC

  • libVLC and its modules 3.0.23 (3.0.x commit 79128878)

    libvlccore, libvlc and 235 plugin modules, every one declaring LGPL-2.1-or-later (Scripts/audit-vlc-modules.py). VideoLAN's patches (VLCKit/libvlc/patches) are applied. Nine modules of the stock VLCKit binary are not included: eight declare GPL-2.0-or-later (audio_filter_channel_mixer_dolby, audio_filter_channel_mixer_mono, control_dummy, logger_syslog, misc_rtsp, stream_out_cycle, stream_out_libstream_out_rtp, video_filter_rotate) and codec_libzvbi wraps libzvbi, which contains GPL-2.0-only code.
